A question for Yorkshire people - are there any interesting yarn shops in the Harrogate/Knaresborough area?

Yes. Yarn Etc in Harrogate (not in the centre) and Knitting Pretty in Knaresborough. K'bro has some yarn bombing on the bollards at the moment I think.

Made a pencil case this morning, altered a standard ‘boxy pouch’ pattern to make it longer and narrower

Love a quick sew 😁

Fab work

I’ve not knitted since jan. then it wasn’t much as ozzy cat wanted to okay. Dio has not given me reason to think I could try again!

By Tim wondering if I could perhaps get away with small things like lots of granny squares.

Anyone recommend a good book of designs and instructions?

Purps

I got the most amazing fabric earlier in the month when I was poorly, I finally managed to make some things out of it. A dress, a mask and added hearts to some shorts.

Ooh, love the pencil case fabric, and great use of your fabric too purps.

I had a 200 crochet squares book evil pixie, may be there's something like that for knitting? Or if you search blanket KALS they often have squares to try.

EP I found quite a lot of ideas on gathered.how - each of the pages on different stitches has a library at the end with different patterns based on that stitch, and I would pick out two or three and work them as practice squares. If this link works it'll take you to one of the moss stitch ones and you should be able to scroll down and see the others, as an example. They definitely had them for rib, cable, increases/decreases too.

Oh like the 200 square book ... Maybe I'll locate my barely used hooks!

I suppose socks maybe fairly kitten proof or cotton clothes

Will look up that link too I'm a basic girl so new stuff may be good
