Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

You’re hat turned out really well CasB ... but there’s all those other methods you’ve just mentioned to try out...definitely worth exploring.

What’s your next project?

Thanks runnyeyes, that's very kind :-) Yes lots to learn and try out, I'm really enjoying it.

Next is a little top-down cardigan for a friend's brand new baby girl, so I might try doing magic loop on the circular needle for the sleeves. I'm trying to find patterns that just have one or two new-to-me things each time - this one has M1L and M1R for the raglan increases, and backwards loop cast on. Thankfully there are some really helpful YouTube videos out there!

You Tube is a blessing - I've used it so much since I took up knitting again after Christmas.

Starting can be hard. I recommend using a larger hook than you think and keeping the starting chain very loose, and not bothering too much about which bit of each chain you hook into. Generally keep your crochet loose, make sure you pull the loop all the way through.

You could also look at using a foundation row, rather than a chain, try searching for foundation sc/dc on YouTube.

My oldest daughter has got very into crocheting. She’s made herself a chevron blanket and has now started on crochet bralettes which are proving very popular with her friends! She may even make some to sell.
