That's splendid, Helegant :)

I struggle to live with mistakes once I know they're there. I was quite pleased when I managed to drop and pick up three rows and correct a counting error that had resulted in one double increase and one double decrease being offset. Chances are nobody else would have noticed, but it looked the size of an elephant to me once I'd seen it.

I finished the first oine of these scarves but haven't blocked it. The wool is much firmer and I corrected mistakes as I went because I could see them and they were obvious.

With the blue yarn it was very loosely and unevenly spun and difficult to undo so I decided the fluffiness would hide the worst mistakes and left most of them in (there are around 5 mistakes - a couple are very obvious but I suspect the freind won't notice as she's not a knitter, so happy hunting)

Thanks. The patter hints that 12 feathers equal one scarf. Had I realised how many short rows were involved I doubt I would have started it.

Back to socks now :-)

That is beautiful. - and brings back memories of my dreambird.

I really fancy doing this. ravelry.com And have to keep reminding myself how tedious the dreambird was by the end

Ooooh! Decent value for such an eye-popping pattern with iconic potential too :)

(I've promised myself no more patterns, and I'm bound to have some short row patterns in my Ravelry library anyway. And I'd just look like a chubby little boy wearing a blanket.)
