Sallykate I've just looked and that new look pattern sounds exactly what I need for a dress I want to make, E 6.1's red spotty dress is getting too small and I want to make another one for her, plus E 4.9 wants one. Could I also have the brave costume one too please? :)

I also found the only garment I knitted before returning to it a few years back. An oversized black cardi/jacket in very chunky yarn with a red collar and pockets, and a zip front. Also huge! Not because I was big, I was really skinny, but because that was the 80s fashion!

Ah yes, I remember those huge jumpers in the 80s - I gave away an enormous Roots jumper a couple of years ago. It could fit a reasonable sized man comfortably!

Great work, HB - and it's good to see a baby item that's not pastel!

It's gorgeous. Are all the squares going to be the same design? (Since it's blocking, I assume it's squares rather than being knitted in the round as one massive square, as it were.)

7.5 inch squares, all the same in bright rainbow colours. The individual squares are done in the round - Unfortunatley my hand still doesn't like smaller needles and wool so I'm going back to the boat blanket for a bit

For my hat, I did 102, reduced by 8 to 94...then started my rib k2p2. I did not consider that 94 is not divisible by 4 until I got to the last two stitches of my rib. Arses to poor pattern writing. So, I unknitted two rows & reduced by 10. The hat did not get finished tonight as planned. Not best pleased.
