Your Moorland efforts have inspired me to try my hand at crochet again. Fortunately it's been such a long time since I last crocheted that I can relearn using the UK version of DC and TC, rather than the North American version that I learned 30+ years ago.

That's exciting Pix, is that testing a new pattern? I've been beavering away on Teen 1's blanket. I've got a whole pile of squares but still 13.5 (out of 49) to do. These are the striped/mixed colour ones that will (hopefully) bring all the colours togther. I've decided on patterns but not totally finalised colours for each. There's going to be A LOT of sewing up to do. I'm itching to get started but want to wait until I can lay out all the squares to check the overall effect. |

Yes Meglet it's a new sock pattern. Only done a basic plain sock before so a little scary. Mentions I need. Cable needle too. Eck! I've also been using my sewing machine to make gnome a medieval tunic. He gave me the pattern link off the Internet so I've no idea if it'll fit!! Hope so |

I haven't posted for a while, but while we were in Rotterdam last weekend, we went to the museum which had a display of sweaters knitted by a lady called Loes. she knitted over 500 since the fifties and just kept them in her tiny house. In 2012 This flash mob was organised by the Museum who had found her story and it speaks for itself. The sweaters they had on display were lovely, and she never used a pattern. She passed away in 2016 aged 82. They also had some knittign set up to have a go with, so of course I added a row or 2 as it would have been so rude not to. If you're in Rotterdam, its well worth a visit, they also had a display celebrating women of Rotterdam from all walks of life and their stories and clothes which was also inspiring. |
