This is a story I missed about the women's march at the weekend, pink 'pussyhats' knitted and worn by many of the women in DC
I picked it up from the front page of Ravelry today

But they don't look anything like cats!

;-)

I think this is the ideal opportunity to bust my fear of US crochet patterns

I think the corners of the Pussy Hats are supposed to be like cat's ears.

Ah. I was thinking they represented something more anatomical in response to Trump's comment about where he likes to grab women.

But then I do have a mind oft mired in filth.

According to the original pattern on Ravelry, that linked to an article a few weeks ago, Wobbling is correct. There was some mildly heated debate on the Ravelry forums that led to a couple of threads being locked

There has been some strong feeling expressed on various groups. Basically some folks think politics should be kept separate from single interest groups.
I'm making a pink hat for my grand-daughter, started as I watched the inauguration. It isn't a pussy hat, and I'm not telling her or her Mum why it's pink or why it's now ;-)

Ah, that explains the comments on the Rav page about not sending complaints to individuals and sending them to the site instead.

I guess that's the problem with such a large group of people on the internet there are bound to be differing opinions. When you feel very strongly for one side it's difficult to see how anyone could take the opposing view (seriously, do women really support Trump?)

The mad aunt wants one... so making one now (always a good idea to keep eccentric aunts on side!)
