Always nice to have knit-worthy relatives too.

I'm very excited as the fused glass we made last saturday is almost ready and I should be able to collect it at the weekend. Glass making lady said its looking great :-)

Teen 2 is just starting Bronze DofE and needs a skill. I suggested a craft and she thought she'd like to do some sewing. I have a machine and can help her. She's done small bits before but not a proper project. I think they have to do something like an hour a week over 13 weeks.

Any suggestions for where to start/what to do? Has anyone else's teen done something like this for DofE? I'm thinking a simple project or stitch sampler to start with, then a proper project, but something she might actually wear or use like a bag or a summer dress.

Meglet - do a search on Pinterest for free easy sewing patterns, there should be some bag patterns on there ( at the very least there's a free shopping bag tutorial out there, so boosting green credentials too :-) )

Meg I'm not on instagram, only look at Twitter for work and rarely look at FB, but I do love my Pinterest account. I find it really useful for craft inspiration.

she helped me with some bunting a few years ago. It's a good place to start. I think she just needs to show that she's made progress by learning a new skill. I'll get her to check what she needs to do at the meeting next week.
