Well done SK, and a very impressive badge it is too!
No rowing for me for a couple of days. Quads are sore after a tough race on Saturday. Maybe a gentle paddle tomorrow.

I think you've earned that day off SK. Well done on completing the challenge and hitting the top of the league!
Muttley: Nice racing, mate. Recovery is key. Take your time and take it easy.
I hit a threshold session before breakfast this morning. 2 x 10 minutes @ r26. Pace was where I wanted/expected at this stage but HR was lower than I think it should have been. Not sure I could have pushed harder for that duration though so I hope we'll see some changes when this session repeats later in the training cycle.

Ooooh, that's better. Quads were rather tight after a tough race on Saturday (16 miles on stony and muddy trails and coastal path, 3,300 ft of climb) and a gentle 5,000m on the machine has nicely stretched them out. Same again tomorrow most likely.

Sunny outside this morning but chilly and too breezy to have the patio doors open. So at 23 degrees in the room today's session was rather sweat-tastic.

So I weighed myself this morning before and after 10,000m at UT2.
12st 4lb vs 11st 12lb. It was a bit sweaty but I didn't think I lost that much fluid. Maybe other factors at play, progress with digesting breakfast etc?

Unless you've had a pee or a poo anything you've ingested is still in there, Muttley, no matter it's state of digestion. A pound of food is still a pound of food even if it's well chewed and mushed up.
There's certainly going to be a fair bit of water weight in the sweat I'd guess.
The other thing that doesn't always get considered is that the reaction to burn calories (both fats and carbs) results in Carbon Dioxide as a waste product, so when you're "burning fat" the weight is lost by breathing it out. For a 10k there's going to be a little bit of that thrown into the mix too.
4lbs is a lot, though, after just a 10k.

6lbs is quite a difference, .. you are talking in excess of 2 litres of fluid loss !!
.. and, as Nellors says, calorie burn is mostly converted to C02 through exhalation which is probably around 300 grams as far as I can find any reliable calculator ..
However ! I’m jealous!

I repeated the experiment today, before and after a slightly shorter but more energetic workout. 12st 4lb before, 11st 13.4lb after.
It's been a source of annoyance for years that my weight is stable at 2-4lb into hwt territory, but registering as lwt on the grounds that by the end of the session I've sweated myself to a whisker below the threshold would not be in the spirit of the sport
Or maybe the scales are a bit off. They're only Aldidl cheapies.
I'll see what the numbers are for tomorrow's run.

Even if the actual weight is wrong on the scales, the fact that you've done it twice and both times there's a consistent drop of that sort of magnitude makes me think it's not a problem with the scales.
Are you drinking anything during the row? Is there a noticeable puddle under you when you're done?
