Hi Nellers I love rowing. Like I love S&C, wish I'd found it 15+ years ago.

I had a similar feeling after my first couple of goes on the C2. I was confined to a gym dreadmill during a spell of violent weather and tried out the rower as a warmup. And appreciated it so much that fairly soon I bought my own. That was in 2007, since when I've done more than a million metres most years (which is not as impressive as it sounds, roughly three workouts of less than an hour per week).

Excellent non-impact exercise in its own right or as supplementary workout/recovery in between runs.

Well that blew out some cobwebs. 20 x 1 min go 1 min recover with ascending stroke rate: four reps at 22 then 24, 26, 28, and 30 spm, pretty much at max pace for each. Mr RowAlong has this one starting at 24 spm but I struggle to keep control at over 30. I had a go in the final couple of reps and got to 31 spm with the occasional flash of 32 but I didn't feel I was getting more out of it than at 30.

Scored 2:08 - 2:05 - 2:01 - 1:58 - 1:55 roughly and reasonably happy with that. Would be nice if it were faster but the progression seems about right.

Now for a cuppa :-)

Tasty !!

The C2CTC this month is 13 x 1 min with 1 min recovery. I think you’d smash that !

I've waffled about it on here before but one of my favourites is 15 x 1 min 1 min recover -- the "half hour of power" :-)
