It's really easy to split the C2 in half and stand it up against a wall or something. At least, that's definitely the case for my 20 year old model C and I'd have thought the newer ones would be the same.

Sounds like I will have to wait for a C2 to come up within a reasonable distance, or more likely not bother...

Check that you’ve got the length of space for the c2 as well, Sam. They are quite long when up and ready to row, which is a really good thing as long as you can fit it in your room.

I'd have to agree with the advice here Sam Jelfs - a Concept 2 is the right answer. In my case, I'd had the idea of getting one since about 1994, and finally bought a new machine in August 2021. They were £130 less expensive back then. I'd looked at second hand machines and there were very few on the market. And they really do hold their value, which made the decision to get a new erg easier. Comparing that to an "ok, but mediocre" Nordic Trak ski machine from the early '90s, which got used a bit but then gathered dust, I'd have to say that's not the case for the erg which is still amazing. I expect to use it for several decades and expect it to outlast me... And, as mentioned, the C2 support and online community is second to none. |

I'm still plodding along with the RowAlong 10k plan, modded on occasion to suit myself. Like today: plan says 60 minutes varying rate from 18 to 22 spm. I did 10000 at UT2, which is about as much as I can handle in one go. Similar effect and benefit I reckon. How's the tonsils, Nellers? |

I was wondering how many metres I've done on this machine, having bought it just over a year ago. PM5 says nearly 1.4 million. Fairly pleased with that.

Feeling a bit improved, Muttley. I’m managing to eat again. I’d not really been able to swallow for a lot of last week and I’ve lost about 10lbs over that time. I think this is going to take a bit of recovering from.

That sounds rather unpleasant. But if you can't swallow solids maybe try fluids - there are some available that are made from barley so are good for carbs and also have an added mild desensitiser and pain reliever.

News update: Tonsillitis might have been a mis-diagnosis. I've just tested positive for Covid. I don't really know if that's beetter or worse. Muttley: I'd had a few protein shakes through last week and sugared tea but not a lot else. I'm managing porridge and rice pudding and soggy dunked rich teas now so starting to get calories back in again, but not enough to out any weight back on yet. |

Oh no Nellers! Worse than tonsilitis, surely? I thought Coivd had been cancelled? Oh, that's just the media then. *Heads off to look at stats* travellingtabby.com |
