I did my first proper 'row training session' yesterday. It was 6 x 500m @1-2secs off 2k pace with 2 mins rest between sets. 2k pace was 2m20 but somehow managed to do all sets @2m14/2m15. All consistent paces and didn't feel too hard. I actually miscounted and thought I needed to do another round but the rower didn't give me the distance when I started again. Soon realised I was finished and felt a bit gutted 😂
Better to finish a session being gutted that it's over than thinking "thank God, not doing that again!"
And ah yes, fly and die followed by crash and burn -- been there, done that, it's a learning experience
After a couple of days skiving, back in the saddle this morning for a lazy 1 hour-ish at UT2, nice and slow, old-time ska and rocksteady in the headphones, a pleasant way to spend a morning.
Nice one Muttley (and good session EB. Don't know how I missed that earlier.).
I've had a few days rest after tweaking something in my back on Tuesday picking stuff up and putting it down again. Managed a pain free run this morning so I'm going to give the rower a try tomorrow (probably 30 r18) and see how things go.
Oh, my hamstrings! After a better balanced (but 2s slower) 2k, I went for a longer 10k row this afternoon. Kept it fun with 10 strong strokes every 500m, and then added 5 more of those every 250m in between...
Mostly because I was getting bored, but also because the last 2k really hurt, with screaming hamstrings, so making it harder was a good distraction. Weights session to finish, next...
