Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think it's good to mix in the lower rate stuff so you can work on the stroke itself, while doing other stuff for the fitness.

That's not to say that the lower rate stuff won' help your fitness, but you know what I mean.

I did a 10k yesterday later in the day as I did a turbo session on the bike in the morning. I'm now sitting in my kit trying to get myself going as the plan says I'm doing a 15km steady state this morning but...…

That Stuck at home rowing club has a challenge on to do a Half Marathon this week and I'm tempted but a bit knackered so I'm talking myself down from it.

Well, I'm mostly talking myself down from it.

Made it to the shed. The half marathon is definitely off the books today. It’s 27c in here! Doors and windows all opened and it’s probably a 3 fab day anyway! Wish me luck.

3 x 5km with a minute recovery to get a drink. Hit hit hit but bearable because I’ve learned my lesson with fan provision.

I'm very lucky. The treadmill folds up and when I break the rower down it fits nicely against the back wall next to the treadmill. That leaves enough floorspace for either circuits, weights, my bike on it's turbo (which usually lives in the other shed) or just stretching. You can see the corner of the weights bench in the bottom left of the picture and the stacked weights behind it. There's even room for Mrs Nellers' exercise bike just out of shot on the right behind the treadmill belt.

That wooden cabin was the best investment ever it turns out, particularly in the current situation, what with one thing and another.

I like the casual mention of the other one ... "two sheds" Nellers :-)

Not enough room in my (one) shed for the erg, unfortunately. But as you say, it dismantles easily. At Muttley Mansions it lives under the stairs and comes out to play in the lounge. When you leave your erg, you do put the handle all the way in to the cage, don't you, not leaving it in the holder as in the pic ... ?

Incidentally, I read somewhere that fans are most effective on humans when blowing at our backs, not at our fronts. Dunno if that's true but I just throw it out there.

Oh, and we all know that ergs with the stealth black paint job go faster than the light grey ones.

I generally do leave the handle in the clip Muttley. Is that bad?

I do, indeed, have more sheds than the legendary "Two Sheds" Jackson. We mentioned having another shed once and then actually got one, which is where I score points over him.

Received wisdom is to put the handle up against the cage, Nellers. Better for the chain, apparently.
