An excellent day's training again Nellers, those 1500 reps are great endurance/tempo training! Your miles /metres for the month must be mind boggling!!
5 x 800m today turned into 4 and a bit.
I had a beer while watching the Everton game as I was just planning a steady row later, but after they won (for once) I fancied tackling a hard session 😂 I quit with 480m to go on the final rep as my stomach was really churning, but I'll take the positives rather than see it as a failure... 1:45.5 pace for 4.4 reps 😉

Yeah, it's a tough one but it's do-able and it has an impact. It's one of what the Wolverine Plan calls "Level 2". Have you checked out the Wolverine Plan?

Knocked out an easy-paced 10k sticking to an 18 rate. It felt quite comfortable and controlled.

Looks like you’re right back on it, Nellers. That’s some intensive training you’re putting in at the moment.
It’s interesting hearing about all the different plans and sessions. I’m still plodding through the early stages of the beginner’s Pete Plan for the second time but know I should be thinking a bit more carefully about target paces for some of the sessions. Some of your sessions sound very precise, Craggy.

Just had a look at the Wolverine plan Nellers it looks like a good plan 👍 well done on your 10k!
Good luck with the Pete plan CW! Ha I suppose they do look quite precise, but there's a nice mix of rates/paces, and the sessions are usually progressive rather than repeated so there's little chance of getting bored.
Today's 8k was 4 x 1800m @r18 into 200m @2k pace -2s with no rests.

Ah, I'd misread that on your log entry Craggy. Sorry. That makes it more manageable but still a bit of a brute. I was thinking you were knocking out 1800m at 2k pace!

Haha just the 200m's at sub 2k pace, so basically 8k @r18 with 4 speed bumps 😉

Craggy, I'm at a bit over 240km for the month so far. Almost all of it is either steady state, stroke rate drills or warm up/down. There are only 2 or 3 sessions with any sort of pace in them, one of which was the threshold (L2) 1500m, and the others were Tempo (L3) sessions which break down 12km into various chunks.
The only real top end bit I've done at all so far was the Beast 666m tt last week and that was hideous! I'll be dropping a Level 1 (Anaerobic) session in this week. Probably 16 x 250m at better than planned 2km pace with big recoveries. After that I'll be a bit closer to knowing if BRIC is a realistic prospect.

Wow massive metres Nellers, well done mate and hats off to you! You're building a really good base and I think with 7 weeks to go there's plenty of time to sharpen up.
The 666m was a toughie, I think we see it as a long 500m, but that final 150m seems veeery long.

I doff my cap to you metre monsters, Craggy and Nellers. Impressive stuff. Of course, it helps if you can cover the distance rapidly by virtue of being fast ...
For me, 4 x 8 minutes with 4-min recoveries this morning. Including warmup about 9000 in total. I find timed workouts tougher than distance ones. You can't get them over with quicker by speeding up (as per what I say above!)
