Nellers
I got some Sondico underwear that has no seems that will rub if I row.
And a bottle of Penderyn Welsh Single Malt which won't help my rowing in the slightest but is rather wonderful anyway.
Hope the night shifts arent terrible mate, and that you get to spend time with the people who matter at some stage soon.

5 down, last night shift tonight! ... still not had a Christmas Dinner Could use some of that Single Malt Nellers !
Managed to keep the training going though so still managing 5 to 6 sessions a week. May try one more 2km just before New Years Day to see if the plans baseline pace is still right.
Hope no one is packing on too much extra calories :-D

Hope it's nothing to worry about Nellers.
Having trashed an achilles tendon in the past couple of days, I was back on the erg this morning for the first time since June. It didn't go as badly as I feared and I managed a reasonable row to 30 minutes for this month's C2CTC before having to back off with a little cramp, probably due to the unfamiliarity of the rowing action.
I can't say I'm looking forward to more erging this winter, but it's something rather than nothing.

Hmm, I don't seem to be able to upload training at the moment, I wonder if there's a problem here?

Bugger, Oranje. Hope that doesn't hold you up for too long.
I used to find that rowing didn't help my Achilles when it was knackered. I found that only the turbo trainer felt comfortable.

Yep, that's usually the case. When I first got a twinge I was back on the turbo for 3 days and then it was better and I ran OK the next day.
So... extrapolating the turbo sessions I thought I'd be OK out on the road bike but after 2 long days at the beginning of the week it's back to square one. I am stupid and should've taken it easier, of course, and today is a lovely day to be out and about, oh well.
It's right at the achilles/calf muscle junction, and erging doesn't bother it too much.

Doesn't sound good Oranj, take care.
I'm away for a couple of days and have easy access to a rower so off to clock up a few kilometers before dinner.

Festive season greetings to all.
Commiserations to Jef for night shifts over Crimble - I used to grab them in a previous job for the extra money and time off when it was busy (they are paying you extra, right?) But nights are tough and I'm glad I don't do them anymore.
I've got something similar, Oranj. Not trashed, but grumbly and giving off warning signals. I find the erg doesn't bother it either but ... I'm ashamed to admit that a rest of a couple of days has turned into several days of laziness and getting fat.
So I'm going to let it slide and then start over from 1 Jan, not decided yet if with the current or a different training plan.

Hello strangers.
I’ve had a busy festive season with a lot of travelling. This has kiboshed my training plans, although the family walks have been great and it’s been good to slow right down at times.
Will be back in the gym on after we return home on 3 Jan. New Year, new 2k PB on its way!!
Have a great rest of the year.
