Cheers Sallykate, I've joined the Team Challenge. I did 8km yesterday fetcheveryone.com/t-15771020 but it doesn't seem to have uploaded to the league table fetcheveryone.com/league-rowing.php Is that a known problem? (although Muttley seems to be there) |

^^ Yamobethere, SK ^ You need to log a minimum of 5 miles to appear on league, 8k unfortunately = about 4.97! |

I've signed up too. While searching for "Fetchies" I noticed "Fowey Accidental Rowing Team", which made me laugh - puerile, moi? Rowing day tomorrow. I didn't know about the distance restriction on the league table, thanks to Mousey for pointing it out. |

I've ordered a Garmin heart rate strap to go with my PM5 - is there anything non-obvious I need to know about using it with the monitor? (And I'm sure I'll be reading back to figure out ErgData etc.). After so long with a PM2 it's going to be data heaven!

It's pretty straightforward SK. The "More Options" buttons should show you everything you need to see. My experience with Garmin straps is that they work better once you're a bit sweaty so smearing a bit of spit on your thumb and wetting the connections before you get started usually helps to make it work better early on. |

Any cheapo ANT+ strap should work OK. I find the Garmin strap cuts into me a bit so I use a Garmin 'pod', but clicked onto a Polar HR strap, which has the popper bits at the same separation and is a little more softer and flexible.

I still use the old hard Garmin strap ORanj, for exactly that reason. The new soft straps cut into me when running because of the edges whereas the older versions were fine. I was gifted a couple of unused straps by a couple of former/very occasional Fetchies as they didn't use the straps at all but needed the GPS watch. Still have a spare in the cupboard.
