Muttley, very nice with only 3 min rest. On my 2k’s I was still acting like a fish on dry land at 3 mins into recovery :-/

Nellers.. I suffered, or actually, am still suffering with almost the opposit. I have days when it feels like I have constant palpitations. It’s caused by my heart just having a rest for a couple of beats... like a mini flat line. Sometimes leaves me a bit light headed as my blood pressure drops. Ended up having scans and being wired up for 72 hours and some meds. In the end they said it was not life threatening and just carry on. At no time did any of the Doctors or specialists say take it steady or rest up. On the contrary, during the 4 months of various investigation I was advised to keep going ( only not to smack myself silly )
Obviously I’m not suggesting you go against medical advice BUT sometimes you have to strike a happy medium for both health and sanities sake.

I was feeling it towards the end, Jef. The last rep took some concentration.
I find I can focus on one thing only at a time on the erg. If it's stroke rate, my pace goes off (often faster, not always desirable). If I focus on pace, after a while technique and stroke rate go south. And if I focus on technique, both pace and stroke rate suffer.
If only I was female and could multitask!

I would have gone for a run today but a slightly grumbly achilles had me on the erg instead.
Plan said 8000m steady, speed up a bit in the final 2000. Done without issue at 2:14-ish and then 2:12-ish, hr comfortably within UT1 band throughout. A good sweaty workout.
In the corner of the lounge is a clock that also has temperature and humidity readouts. I was amused to see them go from 19 to 21 deg and from 60% to just over 70% by the time I'd finished

Yikes Nellers, hope they conclude it’s nothing to worry about.
Looks like i’ll be upgrading to a PM5 sooner than anticipated as my PM2 is dead. I think it’s corrosion of the battery contacts. The only workout I can think of doing without a monitor is stroke pyramids, but even that’s pretty tedious (for me) without the feedback the monitor gives me.

SallyKate. Don’t get rid of the PM2 regardless , it can be repaired and they still fetch a good price on the second hand market.

Thanks Jef, I’ll get in touch with Concept2 and see what they say. They’ve always been very quick and helpful whenever i’ve had questions.
