Pix - still in the right direction though and a permanent downward trend is best, doesn't matter if it takes a while. The slower the loss the more likely it will be permanent.

Your pattern looks very much like mine @EvilPixie - adding about 7lb to most of your numbers as I'm a couple of inches taller I always used to say my 'set point' was about 10:7 and I thought that was too much but unfortunately my sticking point now is where I am at the moment - over 11 ![]() anything starting with a 10 would make me happy, feel more comfortable. |

I guess this is why I give up as I’ve limited belief that I can do it ATM I’m not focusing on diet just running Mileage is up and I’m seeing small drops so I’m happy Only potential issue is that I’m starting to do the multiple weigh ins per day as I did in 97 when I was obsessed with getting the the WW goal weight (which I didn’t as it was 8:7 and I only got to 8:10. My first diet and fail) |

Can you get Mr Pix to hide the scales and just get them out once a week. My weight as I got older settled at 11.7 and like you RH in the past at 10.7 I thought I was big. At the moment I’m aiming for 10:6 and I’ll try to stay between 10:6 and 10:10 until later this year when I’d like to lose a bit more then start to build some muscle. |

Pix - you are so hard on yourself. Getting down to within 3 pounds of a target is not a fail. The world is full of folk that lose weight and put it back on again. The 'diet industry' is a multi billion business, they want you to put the weight on again and be a lifetime returning customer. I don't think you should hide the scales, but it's pointless continually weighing yourself during the day. I weigh myself every morning and often I will weigh myself just before I go to bed, that's because I run early in the morning and want to make sure I'm not dehydrated when I go to bed. Often to be successful and achieve goals there has to be at least for a while an element of obsession. But with food which we all need every day it's more a mindful attitude than an obsession. You're doing well now and if you're happy with what you're doing then that's fine, so stop being so hard on yourself. |
