I would go for one of the Harrier vests if I were in the market for one, I've also seen lots of recommendations for the Kalenji/Decathlon one.

For carrying phone/keys etc if not got large enough pocket I use a Buddy Pouch. They come in 4 sizes. I have the two smallest ones and they are really secure, and I've never had any chaffing issues either.

I'm very dim but how do you carry the Buddy Pouch? It's beltless, but 'magnetic technology' means nothing to me Westmoors!

I need a new running pouch and thought about a flip belt but my Karrimor is half the price and I can pop a small bottle of water (a refillable one from an old belt) as well as my phone, keys, hand sanitiser, tissues in there too. It doesn't look very smart and it has a tendency to migrate from front to back, so if there are any other recommendations they'd be wekcome!

Pix it was jennywren who was selling day off the dead skort

I had the decathlon vest it is great but needing more front pockets for the ultra I got a fantastic one from rat race

On FB people were talking about the harrier one and seemed to suggest it sits quite high but doesn’t rub.

I'm the same as you LD. I couldn't get on with a flip belt (gave that to a fetchie but can't remember who!) so came back to the good old faithful Karrimor. I don't have the problem with it moving around but I do tend to carry more junk than needed on a just in case basis! I'm now in the habit of not using it unless I'm out for more than an hour.

I love my buddy pouch. Yeah it’s magnetic so it opens and one side is inside your waist band and the pouch on the outside

I was looking at the Harrier vests, as their poles are so good and the woman who runs it so nice and also looked at Decathlon. I don't want to spend a fortune! I may try my Osprey cycling bladder thing first this weekend, see if it works. Having been out for about 3 hours on Saturday, 2ish hour walking time, I could have done with a drink and the idea behind the poles was to go further and longer, not faster... So something that carries water, food, first aid kit, emergency bivvy and warm top as well as a couple of litres of water.
