Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

An enjoyable little run until it came to an abrupt halt due to an untrained Dog off lead that proceeded to bounce off my leg leaving a scratch and then barked and circled me while I stood still. Of course when the owner finally sauntered up and managed to put said dog on lead she was very apologetic . I could have entered into a conversation but was so extremely angry that I just glared and bit my lip. I know all the excuses anyway but once they had passed I continued and if I saw them on return with the same occurrence there would be a different reaction from me !

Always disappointing to hear of a negative dog encounter, UD :( I hope you're OK.

I had a nice hour of running in the wind and rain with eL Bee!. Too hard to be easy but not hard enough to be quality, but at the moment it doesn't matter.

glad you ok ultradunc
sounds good Vrap
6.3 miles a lot of it on the towpath along the Chesterfield Canal and on the footpaths on the fields to and from it. Lovely views and sounds of a Buzzard circling and calling over the canal.
Not as muddy as I expected apart from a uphill path across one field close to home that was a bit slippy

Annoying encounter Dunc, but nicely handled, karma.

Wind and rain for me to, but as always when you get out, (most of the time?) a really nice and easy run.

Jono.
I don't bother with dog owners and their untrained dogs anymore Dunc. I normally break my run etc, it's not like I'm training for the Olympics.

Molly J getting Lemmy (English bull terrier) and her attending dog training has enlightened me, the owner is trained as much as the dog. Lemmy is only off the lead when she hires a field for an hour.

Anyway back to business, stuck in a control room for 3 days, so the 10k distance ran this morning was a welcome tonic. Headphones on and the ipod kicking out Hendrix, Plant & Bowie was just what I needed.

Mild weather conditions prevailed.

Nice music selection their . Is Lemmy named after the Motörhead singer ?

Always nice to get out after a few days stuck inside

When I had Hector GSD I went to training for 2 hours a week for 2 years. I still could not rely on recall and so he never went off lead . He was not allowed to approach anyone unless invited so I still have the expectation from other dog owners. It’s obvious to me like a lot of things that people won’t take responsibility or be accountable for their pets.

I just want to be left alone sometimes more than other times 🙂

swittle
A mild, moonlit night, a fresh SE breeze, low pressure, and high tide almost up to the prom by the container port. Dry, lumpy sand waiting for a dousing proved a testing workout for ankles & knees. Trails by the lakes rather soggy. 61 min.
