Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I had my moan, ED. Anyway, today's run was better. The snow here had gone by lunchtime so I nipped out for a crafty 5k. Somewhat chilly in the wind but no uncomfortable. This time last year I was running the sea front from Marbella to Puerto BanĂºs - much more acceptable conditions - but Covid.

Light covering of powdery snow, -1 C, but not slippy. Two pairs of gloves and my fingers were still cold, but otherwise a very enjoyable 3m run through the park. Squirrels in the park didn't seem to mind the snow either.

A very nice 3m in the sunshine today. Over Lupset Golf Course, under the railway line and along the Calder and Hebble Navigation. Ran past Thornes Flood Lock until I had done 1.5m, then turned around for home. The canal was frozen, as was some very big puddles on the golf course. I was quite muddy when I had finished, but it was nice to see the sun shining again.

Minus 6 out there, so an extra layer, hat and winter gloves instead of running gloves needed. A lot of running in the road as the pavements were treacherous in places but glad to get it over and done with.

Jono.
A very chilly 10k this morning -9 with wind chill factor. Easterly wind which was behind me along the river section of the run.

Well done for getting out the Fetchies

Nine miles around the outside of the park. Minus 1 centigrade, felt like minus 6 with the wind chill. Glad it's done. Had my Covid vaccination jab yesterday. I can report that it has not affected my running at all (I'm still very slow! ) Never mind, the booster jab in 12 weeks might help. :-)

Braved the icy SE winds last night, in 4 thin layers up top and shorts & undercrackers below. I find I have to 'learn' the intensity of the wind and frequency of gusts. From the sea wall back up the beach, it was supercharged progress! :)
