Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

32k in 3.00.37 - second long run in before Edinburgh. It was hard from about 18k in. I went out too fast (as usual), bought too much candy that I then had to cart about all the way around; it was hilly and windy and lots of boggy bits on horse trails. I suffered. In theory, the marathon should not be so hard: no hills, probably not much wind, smooth surface (apart from a little bit I understand) and most of all, I will be well rested and not knackered from constant run training and crossfit. But it is also 10k longer! I don't think I could have managed another 10k today.

Impressive km count, IT. Your logic, looking ahead, seems sound. :)

Trying to convince myself, Swittle! I've a 35k to put in which I'm hoping to find time for in Greenland. If you can run around Nuuk, you can run ANYWHERE! Hilliest town in the World. The problem is there are no roads outside of town so you have to go round in circles. The bright side is that this means I will pass my apartment and the university each 3 times on my run so I can nip in to relieve myself :) (Way too cold to be going al fresco and no trees anyway!)

That man from March
In 4 parts - jog down to parkrun, run around the course to see what it was like to assess it (we have a lot of waterlogged grass!) as I am one of the core team, run parkrun and jog home :) all good fun.

IT, going long and hilly will build even more strength and stamina, won't it? You said earlier that Edinburgh was essentially flat, so these sessions will stand you in good stead. Your *rest room* planning is impeccable! :)
