I've tended to get good mileage out of mine. Some Cliftons got to 700 miles and some Rincons 600. The Bondis I ran in today are over 500.

I bought some Clifton 8s and they have quite as a different "ride" to the sevens. The fit is actually the most comfortable fit I've had in a running shoe for decades. It doesn't though transfer to being a good overall shoe for me. That different "ride" doesn't do anything positive for me, there doesn't seem to be the roll forward element of the Clifton 7. Cushioning is as usual with Hoka, excellent but that doesn't make me want to buy this model again.

steve45 I’ve just started running in my Hoka Clifton 8 and I seem to be getting on ok with them, but as they’re my first pair of Hoka I don’t have anything to compare them to apart from my Adidas runners.

I have a pair of 8’s on the way to me. I hope I find them ok compared to the Clifton 7.

Ooooh I have just had a pair of Clifton 8's delivered but not gotten out in them yet (bastard covid). I hope that they perform as well as the 7's

Maybe you could switch to the Bondi? I found they had a real roll forward motion that doesn't work for me at all. However, I just use them for their increased cushioning and 'solidity' as a daily running shoe.

(When I want to go faster, I have pairs of Clifton and Carbon X on hand.)

I wonder whether I'm making excuses for my current poor pace. Yes, my Clifton 7 seem to have a much more obvious forward roll motion, the Clifton 8 don't seem to do that. In addition they don't seem as cushioned either. I'll be interested in reading people's experiences with them.
When I want to go faster, ( that's relative of course and certainly not "fast"!) I find Saucony ISO feel better even with less cushioning.
Glad you're finding the 8s good lin50 which made me wonder whether it's just me.

I wore my Clifton 8 a couple of times this week and I am still not getting used to them. On a five
miler this morning they were awful, poor forefoot cushioning and zero roll forward made for a hopeless ride! If I had more money back I'd bin them!
