The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. I mostly just bash my trailies to get most of the mud off, let them dry and then a stiff brush to get rid of any mud left. Then maybe a couple of times a year I chuck them in the washing machine on a cold wash.

I think it's good to clean them thoroughly every now and then whatever way you do it as I've heard people say it helps keep the stitching from wearing out.

God’s shoe wash: a carefully selected stream at the end of the run. Ideal too to wash the worst of the mud off your legs so maybe you don’t need a pan-scourer in the shower ;-)
