running in mud instead of walking gingerly

I mostly just bash my trailies to get most of the mud off, let them dry and then a stiff brush to get rid of any mud left. Then maybe a couple of times a year I chuck them in the washing machine on a cold wash.

I think it's good to clean them thoroughly every now and then whatever way you do it as I've heard people say it helps keep the stitching from wearing out.

God’s shoe wash: a carefully selected stream at the end of the run. Ideal too to wash the worst of the mud off your legs so maybe you don’t need a pan-scourer in the shower ;-)
