I've been doing my exercises, stability in my knee very much improved. But I have neglected the stretching - as deep tissue massage on Tuesday highlighted - foam roller dusted off and itb ready to be rolled!!

Just wanted to update this thread. After eight (!) weeks out of training I am back to training again, starting very easily and building up. The process has been frustrating but I dutifully did my exercises and this fixed my injury and strengthened me to with any luck prevent this problem happening again. I also have a program of core exercises to do for the next few months, which are boring and difficult but I am trying to stick with them.

So keep it up peoples! My experience is: do what the physio tells you = injury fixed. Think you know better than the physio = injury carries on causing trouble. I believe that this is conditional on having a good physio in the first place, however...

Happy xmas all.

Good advice :-) My ankle is all better but knee joint still iffy and will take longer to build-up the muscles and heal. I will get there though.

I'm going to put this thread on my watch list. It is soooooo important to remember to do all those stretches and strength work. I've been to physio 4 times in 5 years for 4 different injuries. I've now got 4 sets of great exercises that I can and should do regularly.

I *will* do some of them tonight. And foam roller (which is an instruction not from a physio but from my massage lady!). Go do your exercises peeps! :-)G

Doesn't seem there's much to watch lately HG!!

I haven't done my exercises properly for ages and then I wonder why I'm not progressing!

I WILL do them tonight though :)

I did my hip ones, and my foam roller plus some extra ones for calves etc. Pleased. Agree tho kwala - everyone must be very lucky on here not to be having Physio prescribed exercises. Or to be doing them without need for a thread. Or whisper it, not doing their exercises?! :-)G

I do my rehab core and strength exercise 3 times a week and log them religiously (and my pilates class) and then that counts towards my logging of training time for the training hours thread. Definitely helps me keep to the straight and narrow. Though I could probably do more stretching and foam rollering than I currently do and maybe need a bit of prompting for that! Perhaps daily would be helpful for that :-)
