Chester is excellent. Flawless organisation. My bag was waiting for me as i stumbled towards the collection point as they saw me coming! From what I hear, not as easy a course as GMM in that it undulates quite a lot, but that can work in your favour as there are downs too.

Poor choice of words in hindsight. Should have said not as flat as GMM, not used the word 'easy'. There isn't an easy marathon and yesterday certainly didn't sound easy for anybody! My bad.

It is an undulating course - with a notorious hill 2 miles from the end (where the Race Angels were last year!). Good start and finish on the racecourse and pretty scenic. There was a thread I think??

The email apology they've just sent out is a bit amateurish, not mis-spellings as such, but quite a few times two words together without a space between them :-

"Dear Angus,

I would like to email everybody that took part in themarathon yesterday and to let you know that we are very sorry for the failuresin certain areas of the race and that we are listening to your feedback veryintently.

We thank you for all of your messages (emails, tweets and facebook posts) and can assure you that we will useall of the feedback in our event debrief to implement new procedures so thatthis doesnt happen again and that they will work efficiently in the future.
Please bear with us on social media, we are trying to replyto everybody and we will get to your message soon.

When we open entries for 2017, we shall offereverybody a special entry discount which you can use for that race. All of the feedback will be used in a very in-depth analysis of yesterday's race and will be used to make future events the very best that we can.
Best regards
Simon Hill
Race Director

The two words thing will probably be a cut and paste from a text file of some sort with end of line characters not working properly. Bit shoddy but minor in comparison to the event itself!
