I seem to go to two types of gig at the moment, those where it's full of blokes of a certain age, and those where its full of blokes of a certain age and their teenage kids! Should be great, hope you enjoy!

Very good, McGoohan, that just about sums it up for me! Or, I dunno, maybe that was a b-side I missed? But they are still great live! on the Tranquility Base... tour even some of those songs seemed to make sense! |

Yes, I've heard that they 'fit' a lot better as live songs.

I won a ticket to the 2000 Trees festival! I'm not really up for a camping trip on my own, so, at the moment, planning on a definite day trip (90 miles) for day 1, as Martha are playing. I did think maybe I could book a hotel for Thursday night and stay for Friday too. But, having won a ticket, I don't then want to spend a vast amount more money on travel/accommodation when there aren't any absolute must-see bands on my list (so far) for the second two days. Anyone going, and have any recommendations on bands you wouldn't miss?

Frank Carter, Pet Needs, Sprints, Bob Vylan and Tigercub all brilliant on the Sunday. I wish I was going just to see Softplay on the Friday (used to be Slaves), that will be a magical comeback gig. Prince Daddy are also excellent. Saturday is Joyce Manor, Empire State Bastard, Prima Queen, Get Cape, Crows. 2000 trees line up is always brilliant and there will be loads of great stuff on the smaller stages to discover. |

I know it's not everyone's cuppa but I love it. Glasto this weekend. As recently as, say, 2008-09 you could get tickets "quite late in the day" and it only became a feeding-frenzy in more recent years (broadly coincidental with the BBC getting behind it in a big way). Now it's on everyone's bucket list, it seems, like London mara. So I'm a bit gutted to have missed out on tickets this year. Even more so hearing people on the radio / on Twitter saying it's their 10th consecutive or 22nd consecutive trip. How is that even possible? |
