Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There's also the Severn Bridge parkrun in the middle of that - well, if you do your route on a Saturday morning of course

I think I'd prefer to do it mid-week - I've run the Severn Bridge 5 mile Night Run a couple of times, so the parkrun wouldn't be that novel and the train times don't really work for a parkrun start. I'm after more of an 'away-day.' (Can you tell that I've been sitting on the sofa all afternoon feeling full of cold, watching the rain outside and wanting to plan some nice summery activities!)

That sounds interesting LD and doable and mid week would suit me.

We'll have to make a date for sometime in the summer WP, that would be great!

About This Thread

For discussion of the Bristol Bridges Walk. As at 2021, the full route visits 45 bridges in a distance of 45km. There is a reference page maintained by Bristol Civic Society (see link below) and there is also a handbook which can be purchased through that page or on Amazon: Jeff Lucas's "From Brycgstowe to Bristol in 45 Bridges" published by Bristol Books.

The route includes a large loop of around 20km down the River Avon to take in the M5 motorway bridge at Avonmouth and one other, so it should be possible to devise a route which excludes these and offers 43 bridges within around 25km. Sounds like an idea for a run ...
