I can't explain that but my Epix is set up similarly. It works fine for most suggestions. The exception is sprint intervals, which suggests paces I have never achieved in my life. Even so, for those it shows a HR green band for the intervals and recovery periods. I just try to get into the green band or sprint flat out as the case may be. Hopefully you have the workout display that shows the HR band with target (green) and off-target (red) zones. |

I don't actually use sessions so it's possible something happens later that I don't see but mine are set to use HR and all but sprint work that way. No one would Sprint to HR so that makes sense to me. I think if predictions are out, paces will likely follow.

Based on what you've said, it sounds like there's an issue with your watch not respecting your settings.

I shall contact them and see what they say. it's not a big issue as the online blurb says "NOTE: While ultra marathon events can be selected as a race event, the Personalized Daily Suggested Workouts were not designed for ultra marathons and may not fit your training needs" so I wouldn't count on the suggestions for long anyway. I wondered if there was a setting in the app I'd missed and it was reverting to that when it syncs - but I can't find one. @Nord Rundeer π¦ - the sprint and short interval paces come up almost attainable for me, but the pace for slower runs isn't slow enough. It thinks I'm aerobically fitter than I am, yet it has all the data. |

I agree with the last point - I just finished a run staying in the green band for a long run suggestion, but this was in the top part of my easy HR zone and about halfway into my steady HR zone (i.e., maybe 72 to 83 %MHR). I just tend to do what it says and not worry if it is in the lower part of the green suggestion I've often wondered what is the basis of Garmin suggested green zones.

yep, what I'd call steady run hr for me too - I try to stay with it saying 'low' for as long as possible - but OTOH I'm hardly doing any miles anyway, so running to hr isn't exactly relevant at the moment anyway. |

My Fenix 7s has had to go back to Garmin for a replacement. Β£219 for a "new" one - the word they use is "Recertified", but after looking into it, they are mostly returns that are unused. Currently using my backup 745; serviceable but there are niggles and I want a Fenix back. I am surprised at how much I use the touch screen in day-to-day use - really missing that.

Does anyone else have massive heart rate discrepancies on their Garmin? I got my Fenix 5s at Christmas 2020. Immediately noticed it wasn't tracking my HR accurately when running but got the impression from Google that this was normal, so ordered the HRM-Pro strap. In retrospect I should have sent the watch back. Turns out the 5s is too small for me to read if I'm wearing contacts! I don't always want to wear the strap, so that is annoying enough, but recently it appears that the strap is also wrong. Yesterday's run, as an example. Very easy pace, expect to be around 115 BPM, but recording at 140. Started walking and did a manual HR check at 110bpm. Watch is still showing 140 and doesn't drop during the walk. I did check on the connect app, which confirmed that the strap was connected. |

Most of us that have had replacements have found them to be 100% brand new watches that would have been sold as such if they weren't sent to us.

mk parkrun my HRM-Pro is very moody if the temperature is below about 5C. I have a Tickr Fit optical arm band that is much better in the cold, and pretty good any time, worn just above the elbow. Chafes less than the chest strap too, no running dynamics but my F7x gives most of them bar left right balance (which I do value as a measure of how much my left knee is affecting running form). The built in optical on the F7 series is much better than the F5 series, but still not really good enough in my experience. Possibly I have too many monitors. Also have a Polar H10 which is great in many ways (not least letting you view a basic ECG in your phone) but often plays up so badly in the first ten minutes or so that it messes up the Garmin fitness tracking. Been through several straps of various quality and got very frustrated with it lately. |
