mk parkrun My Fenix 5X is usually "about right" - but it's *really* sensitive to how tight the strap is - too tight or too loose, and it can go way off. I generally use my HRM-Pro, which I've found generally reliable. |

@Rosehip Did I understand correctly that you set your daily suggestion target to HR but it still switches back to pace each day? Must be some sort of glitch. Have you tried a hard reset? I have my daily suggestions set to HR and that works mostly, unless it's sprints. I set it to HR after finding that the paces were too fast for me for the intended session. My short race predictions exceed what I can do while HM seems to be right and marathon a bit too slow. I'm still on the older predictor with my FR745. I recently got a software update, 13.70, but my race predictions and hence also my suggested training paces haven't changed. @mk parkrun I have a Garmin Run HRM and that usually works fine unless: 1) it's not wet enough. If I forget to wet it properly or procrastinate before leaving the house so that it dries again, it may not work properly and I get wild readings, up to 30-40 bpm out. 2) I wear several layers of functional clothing, e.g. a wind vest or rain jacket on top of a normal running top. I think it's the electrostatic charge caused by the friction of the materials that interrupts the electric signal detection. 3) the battery is reaching the end of its life. |

I wonder if this is what I get sometimes now, that freaks me out It’s like the electrodes dries out when I’m not sweating in in the cold, and when I reposition the HR strap, cus I wonder if something’s wrong, HR seems to go down for a while, and then trailing upwards again after a while. Or it’s not One thing I do have noticed is that if the hr strap is starting to go bad, you seem to lose breathing rate, you can see it on GC web, hr looks likes it filling in the blanks, but breathing doesn’t. That’s how I realized that one Garmin HRM pro was broken and I got a new one. |

My problems with chest straps has always been static-related; winter or summer, if I had a normal race-style t-shirt on I would get glitching and periods without signal - and every time I could cure it by taking my tshirt off and running bare chested (which I would only ever do for about 1 minute because no-one deserves to see that on!). It would immediately fix. I used water, I used contact gel, different tightnesses etc etc. It was always the static I was either carrying with me or generating in the first mile or so of a run. |

If you log HRV, you also see that getting noisy. I think some of the time the strap is missing beats and assuming that the HR can’t actually have halved, but sending the measured RR interval, and the breathing rate is extracted from HRV so falls over. This is exactly what I’m seeing on the H10. Even with a new strap..l |

Currently using Garmin coach programme with new Garmin, playing music from my phone. When I’ve finished the run and turn the headphones off, stopping the music, my phone starts reeling off what sound like splits but it seems to be random and repetitive. There isn’t anything obviously playing according the phone screen but when ask Siri to stop playing, it stops. It doesn’t do it with runs not from the coach programme. What have I managed to do to the settings?

@Rosehip That is frustrating. I can't really any the reason why it would always default to pace over HR. Other potential solutions could be disabling the daily suggestion prompt and then enabling it again or checking if the software is up to date but you probably tried that already.
