The GPS/multi-constellation/multiband performance on things like the 7x is stellar.
For the moment I really value long battery life and good mapping/navigation (not sure how long I'll go on doing events long enough for 7x type battery to matter).

Leeds Festival pogo-ing has "done for" my son's 45S (cracked the mounting from the watch body, and epoxy doesn't seem to be holding it).

Ali-Express are selling Fenix 5S for £100. Worth a punt, or too out of date?

Really? It's > 3 years old, damaged through teenage carelessness - do you think they'll support in some way? Will give it a try though.

(Tempted by the Fenix 5S at £100 as a backup anyway!!)

They just replaced my Fenix 6X that was years out of warranty with a 7X for a relatively small fee (€180 for a watch that retails at €750+ still)

It'll be interesting to see if any larger discounts appear on the older models

Since they hiked up the price on the new ones with 20% or more, maybe they keep the prices on the old ones more intact perhaps.

Thanks - that's rampant inflation :-)

Odd there was never a Fenix 4, not clocked that before.
