I guess if the storage had become corrupted and was preventing the detailed data being written then this also might present in the same way? And again, a reset might fix this.

Fingers crossed that's done the trick for me - just waiting to hear how the other Fetchie gets on.

Wonder if there is anything in the header info in the .fit file that describes what it has done? Would be surprised if there wasn't some marker in there, even if just for development purposes.

I did another test as I sauntered down the garden with a cuppa, and it gave me a map - so that's all good.

While we're on the subject of Garmins (and why wouldn't we be, in a thread called Garmin!), my 245 has been getting very slow on the uptake finding satellites recently.

I have plugged it in to Garmin Express which says it's on the latest software (11.60). Watch GPS is set to "GPS & GLONASS." I have no idea what else to check or how to check it, any wisdom gratefully received. :-)

Maybe try just GPS, it might be GLONASS that it’s taking ages to find?

Fitz - there was an issue with the GPS firmware (different to the main watch version) recently that caused slow acquisition. Might be worth checking that is at the latest version too.

I thought it meant GPS *or* GLONASS and that the more things in use, the better chance of getting any satellite fix?

I'll try different permutations and I'll also see what I can find on the GPS firmware thing.

Thanks
