When I've used livetrack I've found the drain on the phone battery to be the biggest issue

Garmin connect is down and even the status page is "500..." connect.garmin.com . Looking on Twitter, seems there's a problem with Cloudflare servers this morning.

Phew. Had a wonder whether they'd been hacked. I gather they don't manage the majority of whole sites, just the SSO part. It does make you wonder just how un-distributed the WWW is!

Anyone else had problems with their GPS trace today ? I had acquired a GPS signal on watch before I started the run, yet the starting point showing on the map is about 200m SE of my house. The trace continued to be out by quite a bit, between 50m and 200m over the course of the whole run, generally it was showing too far SE, but at some points it was due east.

I recall something similar happened 2 or 3 years ago that affected everyone, but can't remember what the reason was.

Not implying this is a fetch problem in any way, same trace showing on Garmin abd Strava.

Thanks Stu, good to know it's not my watch that's faulty !

Thought I'd have a look on the Garmin forums to see if there was anything there - can't see a general forum, just a forum per watch series ( Fenix5, F6, F7, FR245, FR255, etc ) and there sa a couple of reports on the FR245 forum. They are saying when it happened the last time it was a faulty CPE file. A qoogle indicates the CPE file is what is used to give you the quick satellite acquisition, rather than the 2 or 3 mins like it used to take in the old days.

Not a big problem, it still measured more or less the correct distance. It did give me a Conq zone that I normally just miss on that loop, so I suppose I should relinquish that :-)

My other half has a polar device and said he clicked his first mile way before he should this morning and at one point was doing 5 minute miles. ( not his usual pace)

Oh, that's interesting LL, it can't be faulty Garmin CPE files if it's affecting Polar watches as well

I suppose we'll just need to blame Putin then, he's no doubt trying to disrupt all these weapon systems that use GPS :-o

I read something on reddit which suggested that there was a big magnetic field issue yesterday which resulted in a lot of GPS shift eastwards.
