Extremely weird about the buttons. I did a rerun today of the last session I did that showed the buttons and nope, no buttons today. No intervals tab on the website either, just laps.

Same here (Garmin 245) = no filter buttons.
My workout:
20 minutes Easy + 6 strides (20s run + 1 min rest) + 20 mins at Threshold
+ 6 strides + 10 mins Easy
I got the effort overlay for the threshold but still now filter buttons or grouping for warmup / run / rest.
I sent Garmin twitter a DM with the screenshots in this thread. They used to respond there but not sure anymore.

Hypothesis.
RH, does your watch give the run/walk/idle graph on connect?

Yes it does. This is a week old fenix 7, it did a quite long update when I first connected it up and another this morning

Not that then! Seem to have lost the buttons when that feature arrived, and it's new on the FR 245 as well.

Any difference if the session is one set up via the watch interface Vs one set up via GC?

The watch interval timer is pretty basic but did have the button on the app as well. I use it for track quite a bit precisely because it gave me that for analysis.

Any difference if the session is one set up via the watch interface Vs one set up via GC? No (only that the watch doesn't let you set a target pace so there's no target pace overlay). I have two buttonless sessions, one from the watch and one from GC, same problem.

I have a “distance and pace“ as a target option on the 245. Might not be what you mean though and I'm not clear what it does as never used it (don't use targets at all)
