I have a FR 235 that does running and cycling, and bluetooth transfers. I like it.

I much prefer a dedicated cycle computer when cycling as it really useful to be able to see it easily on the handlebars - having to lift your arm off the bars and tilt your wrist to see a watch is just a faff, and could be dangerous in some situations, The 130 price you're talking about of £160'ish sounds like the 130 Plus. The Plus was new back in June, you can get the original 130 for about £115. From dcrainmaker the new features in the Plus are : – Added crash/incident detection (using new onboard accelerometers) – Added structured workout support – Adding smart trainer compatibility coming in near-term firmware update to Edge 130 Plus – Added mountain bike metrics (specifically Grit, Flow, and Jump details) – Added ClimbPro – Added hardware accelerometer (used for incident detection and mountain bike metrics) – *New setup routine: Sensors from your older Garmin unit are automatically imported for you on first use (up to 20 sensors on Edge 130 Plus) – *New setup routine: Your default activity profile from your other device is automatically provisioned on the Edge 130 (as close as possible given the smaller form factor/data fields) – *LiveTrack will now show the course/route that you’re on to your friends/family (whoever you’ve shared the route to) Get the basic 130 |

Thanks Gus, because I think it was the plus I'd spotted and the extras don't seem to add much for me. I always put my watch on the handlebars when I ride, though, so I'd do the same with the 735 if that's the way I go, and I'm leaning in that direction if I'm honest. I lose the bike navigation functions, I think, but gain a lot more in terms of multisport use, assuming it works as advertised. |

Personally, I have a 245 and whilst it works more than adequately for my cycles, I will still be getting an edge when I can. I don't like having to look at my wrist at speed and would benefit for the navigation on an edge for longer rides to give me more freedom to go to new places.

The edges are great for the larger displays which suit me with my dodgy eyes. Also easier to see the maps. If your eyes are good then I would buy a 245 over a 735 just because it’s more up to date, better firstbeat metrics and if you are not bothered about Trinthen it just about does everything else. Use DCRainmaker if you want a detailed comparison

I have 735xt and I have had no issues with it. I bought it predominantly because of the swimming functions rather than bike as it has open water and pool swim functions. I do use it on the bike but I don't tend to go long distances, I generally cycle to get places rather than for exercise. When I was looking (18 months ago) it seemed to be the best watch for that kind of money.

Good afternoon shipmates! Question regarding altitude corrections. I tried asking on a FB page for Garmin but got shown a LMGTFY link. support.garmin.com I am currently in Spain and have a 95% heat acclimatisation score. Has anyone seen a number anywhere for altitude? I don’t even have the option there (Fenix 6X pro solar). I think it won’t show until I activate it by training at altitude. I am living too low for it (550m and it needs over 800m) but today I rode to 3398m from 720m so expected it to say something!
