Check previous activities, these affect the recovery as well as the current one. My 50K on Saturday said 4 days to recover so even my activities until midday Wednesday would state recovery time no matter how minor. Also if you are using optical HR and the strap isn’t tight then all bets are off! |

I still haven't worked out how to get recovery time other than if I happen to be looking at the watch for the few seconds it comes up after stopping a run. Is anyone else having garmin issues? mine has stopped giving me sleep data - says I need to wear it to bed, when I have been doing and last week's open water swim recorded the time, but no distance. |

Which Garmin have you got, Rosehip? I can find the recovery time but it's buried in a sub-folder on the watch (on the 245, it's "Training Status" then click the start button to scroll through VO2 Max, Training Load, Recovery, and Race Predictor).

OW Swimming is notorious for messing up the distance, unless the watch is kept above the water the whole time.

Thank you (I'm sure someone told me that before and i forgot it. I've done bugger all today, apart from several short dog-walks, says recover 0 hours ) |

I can confirm that the race predictor is still laughable on the 245, mine says I can do 5k in 22:43, which is over 3 minutes faster than my PB from last December!

StuH
So my ludicrous recovery message, I looked at the HR data of previous activites, nothing out of the ordinary. Tonight I had my HR display up while on another easy run. I noticed the majority of the time it said "No zone", the couple of times it said "Warm up" (z1) I was comfortably in z2. So on finishing my run I checked the zones on the watch, all way high and my max HR was at 220 something! I did have the watch set to auto adjust Max HR but I've hardly gone over 160 in months. Then I saw this; So that spike does not show on the recorded activity, it's after I've stopped and saved. I think it is when I removed the strap. Looking back it seems to have been happening for about a week. Can't see any way to fix HR data outside of activities. |
