Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That's funny.

I am fast enough to swim breaststroke in the fast lane. Sometimes...

That sounds interesting Cas

When I swim on weekday evenings (which is quite rare) there's a guy who breaststrokes in the fast lane legitimately. He sometimes jumps in and follows my toes, as it were, and I took a while to not feel a hit to my ego for being unable to drop a breaststroker. He's a good bloke, though, and I have got past it now.

I shouldn't comment on breast stroke really when I try it I tend to go round in very small circles 🤣

I'd love to put that up in A1 size at my usual pool (and add in things about blocking the ends because you're just there to chat, and not checking if there's a faster swimmer behind you before starting your next length...must not rant!). If I put some effort in I can also swim breaststroke fast enough for the fast lane, though that's mainly because the average pace in the fast lane isn't really that quick. Though we also have a chap doing super-speedy breast stroke from time to time.

I also tried some backstroke in my cool down last week, and mainly threw water in my face :-) Something to practice!

Think you're smooth? Check out this video of Kathleen Ledecky balancing chocolate milk on her head while swimming. Unreal!
