Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What, all of it? Not up to speed with the open water swim world at all. What's the Coniston event and how far are you going to be swimming there?

Oh, and obviously I agree with LindsD.

Coniston is 5.25 miles end to end which is hopefully what I will end up doing.

Blimey Charlie! Well that explains why you’d do what you did!

Anyway, you’ll be fine. You’ve got this.

Long way, though.😬

Yep. I would be doing quite a bit less without the event looming.

Thanks Daz, let's hope more monitoring does lead to cleaner water.

KatieB, fantastic training and good luck for the 3hr swim and Coniston!

Had my first swimming lesson in a couple of months this morning (marathon taper and recovery got in the way) and it was fab - lots of drills and then a lovely moment at the end when it all came together and felt stronger and smoother through the water. My next few swims will be repeats of all the drills and an attempt to reproduce it and make it a permanent improvement!

Two new swimming badges today! 600m and 800m. Earnt them as I did my first ever 1km swim. Delighted to have realised that 40 lengths of the pool is doable. Hopefully the first of many. Recently 500m has been my longest (probably also longest ever) and regular distance. Today it felt like I had plenty left after the 500m so just kept going. Delighted!
