Fizz :-)
Does the diamond disappear once the first person takes it? I don’t think that would suit the way I plan my runs.

@Fizz :-) How do you plan your runs?

@Ness I'd have to figure that out, but I reckon that the new map would feature more icons over a wider area - so in theory there should be plenty of stuff to target on your available routes.

I haven't been playing it too long and do still enjoy it (I find the challenge of squashing my bug helps me stay motivated to get out) but would be interested in an updated version.

I'll probably build something entirely parallel to the existing game, so that those for whom Change Is Not Good can continue playing the existing one :-)

I'm out if people all over the country can nab the traffic lights on my routes!

I can see how that might work. And my zone is individual to me so would understand that it might work better for others. I'm sure it'll still be fun even if I can't get so many bugs! 😀

The likelihood is that any new game would have different mechanics.

fetcheveryone wrote:The core change would be to have all the players operating on one set of icons. So for example, if there was a diamond one mile to the north-west of your home point, *everyone* would have the same diamond one mile to the north-west of their home points. So you'd be competing with all those other players to grab it.

So, will more than one person be able to grab that diamond?
Or will I go out on a Fetchpoint run, and could find out that I scored zero because others got to the markets first?

Potentially, yes - but also potentially, no :-) A marker could spawn somewhere, and either (a) the first person to nab it would benefit; or (b) it'd stay there all day for everyone to cash in.

Like I said, new game, all up for grabs :-)

I put in a request for feedback in my blog back in April:

and posted some suggestions as to a way forward a few days later:

I assume the jewels (etc) would be allocated on a first to upload gets them basis?
Might not work so well for those of us who have to work first, play later in the day.

===========
1) The scoreboard and markers don't 'reset' on the first of the month any more. They work on a rolling 30 day system.
2) You only need to worry about red bugs.
