Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Being clear does help to avoid uncertainty, which @mk parkrun is reporting. Tweaking the guide to say, 'Red bugs are yours. Green bugs are everyone else's,' would be a good start.

@CumbriAndy, @Bob!, and @RRR-CAZ 🇬🇧 put it well.

I'm obviously colour blind when it comes to reading 'green' and 'red' 😂
Maybe just change the guide image as it's a green bug?

The main thing is that it's getting me out for extra activities on different routes to usual

It is very good for that! I definitely found a number of nice roads that I wouldn’t have otherwise run down thanks to Fetchpoint.

Remember that if you get a bug/jewel/traffic light spawn in a place that you can’t safely get to (middle of a lake/golf course/farmer’s field/dual carriageway/etc) you can mark it as inaccessible and nothing will spawn in that spot again. A bug will respawn elsewhere in your circle immediately, jewels however will not.

Yeah, getting to grips with that. I feel bad but we are on the edge of the city so I moved my homepoint further in. Even so, a fair chunk is fields. No doubt they will all be houses in a couple of years, but for now I am reporting them. With so many along muddy paths and bridleways I'm getting proper use out of my bike as well as ruining my trainers!

Most of my fetchpoint map is marked inaccessible due to fields, a golf course and lots of water. At first glance it looks like I don't have anywhere to actually run!

My home zone has a quarry which I've had to mark as inaccessible. There are also a few fields and bits of farmland. A couple of the fields have recently been developed and now have housing estates on them. For those I've gone back and marked them as being accessible now. It makes the game more interesting because it increases the number of locations where bugs might be residing. 😉😂

Wow! I never thought about the impact of living out in a village.

I'm not even in a village - could possibly be described as a hamlet, at a push!
