@Shades you are right - this time last year it wasn’t even on my radar. I was around 18st 9lb, having been as low as 18-2 earlier in the year. I was thinking I might set out to get firmly underneath 18st in 2024. And look at me now!

Pizza with a friend tonight I managed less than half of it although I did have the garlic mushrooms to start. Very nice and the rest can go in the freezer. She also said she thought I’d lost weight (a couple of people have commented that I look like I’ve lost weight recently) and I had my ‘skinny’ jeans on that I didn’t think would fit into and were actually feeling looser, so maybe just not knowing what I was weigh with the kg/lb to stone conversion issues I’m not as bad as I thought. |

Morning all holiday day has arrived! Weigh this morning says I’m down 1lb which I’ll take. Hopefully won’t be too much of a gain as the food is pretty healthy and we’ll be walking lots but in the zone to get some progress on my return. Keep being amazing guys! |

Have a fantastic time, GG. Well now. Although I felt fine yesterday morning (I think I must just have been very tired on Tuesday), I decided to give myself a day off exercise. I did loads of chores round the house and ran errands instead - good feeling! Today is walking group. Except we got a warning message from the walk leader warning of dire weather forecast, and conformation later that the walk was off. I checked the forecast for the location - yep, sleet and or snow basically all day, and on Dartmoor, so no argument with her decision! Never mind, thinks I, I’ll go for a swim in the morning. The forecast for here was rain, maybe a little sleet. Woke up to lying snow, and still snowing. I’m going nowhere! OK, it’s not thick snow, but why take the car out of you don’t have to? Instead, when I’ve finished my coffee, I’ll put my workout gear on and do kettlebell and body weight exercises right here. Including planks, squats, and single leg RDL’s! Then it will be another day of chores and/or leisure activity at home, I feel. Mr suggested (after hearing the walk was cancelled) that we go to the neighbouring town this afternoon and see if the department store there will fit blinds at height, cos we have a double-height window in our hall which faces West, and cooks us in summer. But I doubt we’ll be doing 11 miles of windy country road in this…. Anyhow… I stepped on the scale this morning and saw some frankly AMAZING numbers. Not only have I blasted through 5 stone lost by quite some way, according to the app my BMI is 29.9 and I am no longer obese! Hang on though - my actual weight of 13-9 is above what I had calculated as BMI 30. What gives? I thought it was a rounding error in the algorithm, cos according to my maths, my BMI is 30.005! Except on closer inspection I discover that the rounding error is my side, and my BMI comes out as 29.915! I AM NO LONGER OBESE!! OK, so if my height is the merest smidgeon under 5’ 7”, or tomorrow morning if I eat a lot today, then I pop back over that line. But it will only be temporary, won’t it? The trend is down, the trend is down, the trend is down. Speaking of trends, I use the Trendweight website to smooth out daily readings. I’ve decided that’s what I’m going to report as my monthly change on the fetch spreadsheet, and will implement that from1st December. It’s a lagging indicator - but even in THAT I am under 14st. Though with a few pounds to go to reach 5st lost and then BMI under 30. Sigh. Happy dance. Disbelief! Patience. Persistence. Better health. |

GG - enjoy your holiday. RevB - that is a very important milestone to reach, your BMI sub 30 and no longer obese, congratulations. But you've worked so hard, you deserve those results. I cancelled my appointment in Torquay later today due to the forecast as a tiny bit of snow/ice and it's tricky or dangerous getting my car down the hill. It's an appointment I can reschedule so not worth taking the car out if not necessary. |

*waves off* GG who has now departed on her holiday .. RevBG - excellent news .. don't blame the happy dance at all ![]() Saw my Mum earlier on today so staying in the local Holiday Inn tonight. Which meant I was able to have a swim after checking in (800m - 40 lengths of their 20m pool). After sitting in the car to drive here and sitting around chatting to Mum, I needed the exercise. |

Down another 1.5lbs. 4 more to get to target. This week will be a shorter week as I will need to weigh in on Thursday as I’m away for the weekend so won’t manage Saturday. Even 1/2 lb would take me to my first half stone. I haven’t really changed much except for the wine at the weekend and no snacks in between meals.
