I didn't go anything like that low last year when I followed the BSD principles but it still worked in shifting a stone and a half. I don't think 800 is feasible if you're training.

I couldn't manage on that low a calorie allowance either.
By the time I've logged breakfast and my milk for the whole day (for my coffee) I'm already at around 900.

Can honestly say I haven't felt hungry, though maybe cos I'm a short and doing precious little exercise at the moment probably helps! Though it says 800 it does vary day to day. This is today's plan which comes in at 990 calories.

I'm typically eating 800-1000 cals. If I'm running more than 5k, I have a bowl of porridge as an extra. It's more about cutting out bread, potatoes, rice, sugar (including tropical fruit and alcohol) and pasta for me, which can be tricky if we go out for a meal. I'm going for a meal next week and have looked at the menu (it's a Hungry Horse pub). Most of the meals have 1500+ calories, with a number being over 2000 cals. My favourite meal there - waffles with southern fried chicken (no chips) - is 2500 cals. I'll never eat it again! I'm left with either a full English breakfast or New Yorker chicken with salad both under 1000 cals and relatively low carb.

I agree you can eat a lot of very good and healthy food for not a lot of calories sometimes I struggle to get enough cals.
But itβs also very easy to eat too many - I spend too many cals on wine π
Using veg instead of pasta/rice is a great way to save I quite like courgetti and cauli rice.

I found I could run 5K on 800 days but I've only ever done two a week and my running is not at the fast end of the scale.
OH has now lost just over 5kg in 2.5 weeks of 800ish and will probably continue on lowish carb but increase intake a bit.

My book is arriving today! I'm quite excited! 800cals every day does seem impossible to me atm - 2x a week is do-able. But I shall have a read and see.
As far as exercise goes - well, I'm on the long, slow road back from injury and idleness so a mile walk and a few stretches / strengthening exercises is about my limit right now - nothing too energetic or strenuous but every little helps!

Doric - menu looks lovely, especially the meatballs. But I couldn't survive on a couple of pancakes for breakfast.
GimmeMedals - that's a shock seeing the calories in your favourite pub meals. Could you share one of the dishes that you like with someone else?

I shared a pudding with OH last week and that worked well, Shades. Generally, the low carb meals are lower calorie but my friends are all potato fans so they wouldn't go for that.
