My worst mental maths collapse came at the end of the Tour of Tameside, AL. It was a 9 mile race along the canal. It was my 6th race in 7 days. It started at about 2:00pm on Saturday afternoon and the temperature was hovering around 90 degrees. I had already been confused by another runners fluorescent vest. I spent several minutes trying to work out why the mile marker in front of me never seemed to get any closer.
Then I came to the 8 mile marker and couldn't work out how many miles I had left to run.
I really enjoyed the contributions again this week. LindsD's happy place was giving me the 'Little Fluffy Clouds' vibe that Trin's 'feeling especially happy today' report did - perhaps some sampling to be done when things get less busy at work.
Another great podcast, thank you. It helped me round my long run today which seemed to have a draining headwind almost the whole way. Much lifting of the corners of my mouth
I listened to the last 10 ish minutes today on the way to work and I forgot about the bird, I was wondering what was wrong with the car too. Lovely episode as always, great contributions from everyone as always.
Thank you; they’ve kept me company printing over the last couple of weeks - huge thank you for the shout out in episode 107 😘 I wasn’t expecting that at all.
Loved ITG’s marathon contribution, Scribbs on the beach, Linds in her happy place, hearing about the Sheep Sanctuary and the sheepy shuffle….
I’ve only ever tried one multi-day event; it was Town to Tring and Tring to town back to back ultras. I hated running by the canal so much and seeing all the dead things floating in it (there were a lot) that I couldn’t face running back down it again the next day, plus the weather was chuffing awful, so got the train back instead after staying the night at the hotel I’d booked….
Looking forward to the next podcast, thank you folks xxx
Last night was a reminder of how important it is to know where the nearest defib is and how to use it. Traumatic for everyone, especially his family, but crucial that he was surrounded by professionals who knew exactly what to do. Keep yoir eyes peeled for them, folks. I had never noticed any until my dad died; now I see them everywhere.
