I made a start and finish day 1 with no StreetView, but I am by a bridge which Google has pictures of. Colber Bridge looks quite different depending on which photo one looks at:

Recce for a local half marathon trail race with a colleague this morning..so 14.8 miles (jog to start and walk back on top of the course route ;-) ) on the clock and I’ve got to Hinton St Mary. Great trail route, including much laughter when i sank as deep my knee on one particularly boggy section 🙄

Help! I'm on my bike on a very busy spaghetti junction type bit of road and I don't like it 😱

That bridge you just crossed was opened 5 years ago replacing the previous one which would've made where you are feel comfortable.

380 of 553 runners off the mark.
39 of 171 bikers.
15 of 92 swimmers.

And we've already had one person go through the first checkpoint! An epic 130 mile ride from Nephi means he's raced through Philadelphia (I prefer Dairylea myself) and sees him bearing down on the intriguingly-named Elktown. I think he's got some help from that green lorry that's just behind him.

leads the run/walk, courtesy of a 26.6 mile run that leaves him over half way to Stone Henge. He's on a footpath at the moment, so live coverage of his location will have to wait until he breaks cover.

And 2.1 miles of swimming gives Oranj the lead in the swim, just over a quarter of the way to the first CP at Pont Maréchal Juin. The river is looking beautiful at this point, and in the background you can see Pont de la Pénétrante and a couple of nice yellow cranes. He's certainly penetranted this challenge with his opening effort.

Wow! Excellent going! I'm just ahead of Darwin on the run-walk challenge at the moment, I think. Planning a good few miles tomorrow though. :)
