Anyone still doing this. My January 5k was taken from the Cleethorpes NYD 10k. 19.59

I want to, and I will try to get them in here and there.
But I will only do it as a dedicated run, and not as a part of something else.

I did it today on the track as an LT session. I had skipped my LT session yesterday because I was too busy and my RHR was still about 5 bpm higher than normal. Today, back to normal, ready to run.

I was hoping for about 4:35 min/km (7:23 min/mi) for the 5k because that's what Garmin has recently declared to be my LT pace. Goal time thus was 22:55 or under 23 min. I was a tad faster, 22:39 for 4:32 min/km or 7:18 m/m. Happy with that for an LT session.

Thank you. I was pleased with the result but my calves are a bit tight now. I think they need more time to get used to track running in racing flats again :) I feel the lack of speed work at the beginning of the year.

Great time in trail shoes, riggys. I'm sure you'd be quicker in lighter shoes and on a flat road course. You might have a shot at sub 20 at some point.

PS: that 19:59 that was quoted, that was you, riggys, so you already made it :-D I just went back a page to see who had recently done a sub 20.

Thanks. Would like to go sub 20 at clumber. The sub 20 this year was part of the New Years Day 10k in Cleethorpes. A fairly flat road course. Just a shame I couldn’t quite put two sub 20 5ks together on that day 😁
