Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Hi all

Ive been following but not posted for a while. However I’ve had a bit of a breakthrough on the personal front:

I think that I might have finally come to terms with the fact that my body has changed shape and it’s not changing back again. We went to a wedding reception on Friday evening and I had to take the day off to go shopping for something to wear after a (private) meltdown on Tuesday when I’d tried on my usual go-to dresses and none of them fitted. Luckily I found something that actually made me feel really good, a black high-neck jumpsuit in Next that was miles away from the usual type of thing I’d try on - just picked it up on a whim.

I have now packed away all of those dresses. When I thought about it properly I realised that the newest of them was 6 years old, and the oldest at least 15(!): my body has gone through a lot in those years and to expect it to be the same shape and size is pointless. I will buy new ones when I need to which fit the me I am now, not the me I was then.

I feel better now x

Well done Paula. I did a similar thing recently with dresses in my wardrobe mostly all I will never realistically fit into anymore. Lots of nice outfits out in the shops

Good work ladies! Love all of those posts

It’s really positive to wear things “now” that you like & feel like the real you in... love the sound of the jumpsuit!

Kwala.. that’s ace news! Good on you!

I’ve has a good day painting.. mor on me than the piece of furniture lol! But a very positive creative day.. excellent!

It’s really a good point about accepting your body, mine too, I’ve definately changed shape now. And it’s really obvious for my age group so I do agree that some of my work is totally about acceptance and making some positives about what I do have

Love you lot
You amaze me!

A new week to play with & reading these things makes me feel yeeehaarrr!

I tried the new gym near work this morning. Just did a tabata session with a 12k kettlebell that I could have done at home in my back yard, but I haven't been doing that, so now I'm paying for access to a gym environment that's an encouragement to use it.
I have changed shape too and don't think I particularly dress for my shape, but as I have no interest in clothes, I don't particularly want to endure shopping for new stuff.
My challenge is that I was like this in 2008, and started running and training and saw a change really quickly. Now it's taking more time to have an impact.
I'd like to lose some of the bulk from round my middle so that I'm overall a bit healthier long term and hope that will help me run, cycle and swim a bit faster too. As well as looking less lumpish in photos.

Don’t know if I’ve turned a corner or it was just a one off but had a very speedy run this morning :)

We had a huge declutter at the weekend, lots of stuff, thrown or donated (lil’ sis has gained a couple of dresses ;) )

I too am realising that maybe my shape has changed and I need to take that into account

FRU do we work together, you must say hi next time lol

We had a VIP too and all have been cleaning and tidying off today so will have missed him

Was a bit fed up been rejected again though not a surprise statistically speaking maybe time to shut up and start doing and go for a GFA is it a realistic aim or am I living in wild cuckoo land

Should I give up but I really I'm not done yet but must run regularly cos it won't happen by itself
