Bullfinch only a rare visiting to our garden. Which is a pity as I love the colouring. We've not seen our reed bunting this year. Was resident for a while in Jan / Feb. 2016 but not seen this year. |

Love all the garden bird sightings, nice to see others have better luck than me. The nearest I've seen bullfinches is in the Conwy Valley whilst working, which is abotu 15 miles away, and only ever saw two at a time.

A first for me today, i heard a Teal calling. They are pretty shy and move away fairly quickly, but i was hidden from the gravel pit by bushes. The call was the first one under Teal on the bird-songs.com site, about 1" down on the LH side bar. I had no idea what it was when i heard it, but now i know.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I even only ever seen one Bullfinch, a male a few weeks ago, just outside the kitchen window. Of course it had gone by the time I got my camera and its not been seen since. I was amazed how bright a colour it was.

D2
Something flashed across the little wall where I was feeding the birds this morning, could it have been a sparrowhawk at this time of the year, we have them in the summer?
