Heron and Cormorant from my window. Collared Doves "singing". Waxwings were just east of the Cardiff City Centre a couple of days ago in car parks. Similarly in Barry, just west of Cardiff.

They're on their way Steve! Ours have left now. Saw a whooper Swan on the river this morning, quite happily feeding with another couple of swans, almost missed it.
On and blackbirds, anybody else noticing them in large numbers?

We also have lots of blackbirds. They are enjoying the old windfall apples we've put out.

Cold weather in Europe possibly? Many song birds come here to avoid the winter over there

Look out for rooks refurbishing rookeries. Rooks nest early and I've seen at least two rookeries with birds present over the weekend
