Some birds mate for life or spend their lives in family groups. Ravens and other raptors spring to mind but I've seen a pair of mistle thrushes defend berry laden bushes together against blackbirds. Robins and wrens will sing in the winter plus dippers

Yes. Swans mate for life as well. Must be folklore.

Fragile Do Not Bend
A male great tit in my garden yesterday looked like he was trying to impress a female. Lots of sticking his beak in the air showing off the black stripe on his front. I've never seen one do that before.

I think I might try that Fragile!
Let's not forget singing Dunnocks in winter..and their much more promiscuous approach to relationships!

I saw a black headed gull today with a near full "black" head

Also two separate pairs of jackdaw in obvious courting mode heart

Dunnocks are total shaggers FACT!

Mine are too busy eating the food I put out on the frozen ground for any of those shenanigans. :)

Wriggling Snake
There are rumours of a kingfisher 3 miles down the road on the canal near the river Tame and Aldi šŸ˜Š. The noticeable thing on our feedercis how all the Tits threaten ine another and sparrows all get on.
