Indeed if you don't vote you have no say and have said nothing. Spoiling would at least send some sort of concerted message....however, I think a large part of the the non voters is in the camp "I don't see how it maters to me".

I think I may have spoiled my last vote actually.

Futile may be, but any more so than pinning your hopes on one of the colours?

At least my way I save myself the time of reading half a dozen manifestos, which I assume all rational politician voting people do.

Yes, of course. See douche versus turd sandwich referenced earlier.
Have you not got a pragmatic bone in your body? :-)

I guess I feel happier not voting and not being too bothered whether it's a douche or a turd.

Rather than voting for a douche which give me two possible outcomes
1 - Douche wins and I feel partly responsible for a douche being voted in
2 - Turd wins and I am annoyed because I'd rather have a douche.

That's why PR matters, you don't vote for a person, but a party.

I share that point of view to some extent with work, why work for a corporation when the corporation is inevitably run by a douche bag. In fact in my view this is a bigger transgression, because you have to spend your working hours, your life devoted to a few morons who just want to get rich and live and easy life, at your expense. What kind of life is that? Presumably you wouldn't disagree binks?

PR matters only if you think voting for the Douche Coalition (douche-leaning Social Doucheocrats in partnership with fringe eCover Green Douches and Socialist Douches) or the Turd Coalition (Conturdative Party in partnership with the shit-where-you-want Liberturdian Party) is better than voting for the Douche Party or the Turd Party.

Viewers in Northern Ireland won't care either way as a vote for a turd party is always wasted.

If the company I worked for were douchebags I could quit tomorrow and work somewhere else.

We have been gradually forced into a position, more and more where "free" credit takes the place of real wage rises and the amount of personal debt for everyone has increased drastically and hangs like Damocles sword to discourage those who want to move around. And for those that do, then zero hour contracts, no sick pay, nothing beyond 2 weeks into the future is another huge sword waiting. Corporates hold all the cards, it's only a buyers market if you have the CV everyone is clamouring for.

Another idealistic notion Binks. Fine in theory. No good in the real world. Where are all the non-douche employers that have jobs for us all?
